EASY TO REACH AND LOCATED IN A CENTRAL POSITION
The Hotel Garni is only a few minutes’ walk from the center of Schenna away and well connected to public transport. In just two minutes you can reach the bus stop that will take you to Merano (about three kilometers away) and to other popular destinations. The hotel represents not only a perfect starting point for sports activities, but the village has also culturally a lot to offer.
Our guests can park in our private parking lot, so that the most popular destinations can be perfectly reached on foot, by bike, or by bus.

BY TRAIN, BUS, CAR OR PLANE

By train

Let’s get on the train and enjoy the ride. Trains from Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), as well as Deutsche Bahn (DB) will bring you to us. With the ÖBB Nightjet trains, you can travel overnight in a climate-friendly and comfortable way to Merano from Amsterdam to Innsbruck:

An overview of all of the train connections to South Tyrol can be found on thetrainline.com. From Merano and Bolzano the location of Schenna is very easy to reach with the connecting trains or buses. A good transfer service to Hotel Katnau is offered by the connecting shuttle service Südtirol Transfer, which takes you directly to the hotel from the nearest South Tyrolean train and bus stations.


By bus

You can reach Schenna also by bus. Every Saturday (from 5th April to 25th October 2025) Südtirol Express from Switzerland or the Meraner Land Express (every Wednesday and Saturday from 16th March to 9nd November 2025) will bring you from Munich directly to Schenna. Otherwise, there is the possibility to take the Flixbus to Meran and to continue with bus line 231 to Schenna.

By car

  • Brenner (A22 highway, subject to tolls) – Bozen (exit Bozen Süd) – MEBO highway to Meran (exit Meran Süd-Sinich) – follow the signposts to Schenna
  • From Reschen Pass, follow the roads 40 and 38 to Meran Süd – follow the signposts to Schenna

By plane

The airport of Bolzano/Bozen is about 30 km from Schenna. This means that you can arrive directly to the airport of Bolzano departing from the following airports: London, Copenhagen, Brac, Dubrovnic, Antwerp, Ibiza, Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and others. Other airports that are close to Bolzano and Merano are the airports of Innsbruck, Munich, Verona, Milan, Venice etc. From the nearby airports there is an airport transfer to Merano and environs, but Schenna is also very well connected by bus and train.

Airport transfer

The Tourism Association of Schenna provides an Airport Shuttle from/to Airport Bolzano. This service costs € 20,00 per person and route. And every Saturday from April to October this shuttle brings you from Airport Innsbuck directly to your hotel in Schenna.

Important information

On the day of your arrival the rooms are ready from 2 pm. We ask you to let us know if you should arrive after 6 pm. On the day of your departure, we ask you to leave your room before 10 a.m.
In addition to the total price, a tourist tax of € 3.30 per person/night is charged (children under 14 years are excluded). The income from this tax is used for the development and maintenance of infrastructure and services, as well as for the organization of cultural and sports events. The local tax is charged on departure and is separately on the invoice.
Our panorama suitecan also be booked as an apartment (price for 2 persons per day). Price for every additional person: Children under 4 years € 8.00, children 4-12 € 22.00 and over 12-year-old € 34.00/day.
The price of the breakfast buffet is € 19.00 for adults and € 10.00 for children.

Final cleaning is included for a minimum stay of 7 days; for a stay under 7 days or intermediate cleaning (if desired), an amount of € 25.00 will be charged.

Fresh bed sheets are provided weekly and towels twice a week.
If a room for two is used as a single room, we will ask you to pay an extra charge of € 22.00 per day.
Children are welcome guests and between 0 and 4 years they live without extra charge in their parents’ room and pay only for the breakfast (€ 8.00 a day). In case of additional occupancy children aged 4-14 will get a discount of 50% and teens aged 14-17 will receive a discount of 30%.
Small and quiet dogs can be brought on request. In consideration of our guests, they are not allowed to enter the dining room and to be on the sunbathing lawn. If you bring a dog, we will ask you to pay an extra charge of € 14.00/day for cleaning.
Bookings are binding by both parties after written confirmation and transfer of a down payment that corresponds to 20% of the total amount of the stay. The payment can be done by bank transfer to the following bank account of Raiffeisenkasse Schenna:

We would like to advise you that the room arrangements will be carried out by our side due to organizational reasons.
If you travel by car, you can park it in our covered parking.
From the summer season, we will offer more parking spaces for our guests: We are building a double-decker parking facility to make your stay even more comfortable.
You can pay your bill in cash or by debit card, VISA or MASTERCARD.
In case of cancellation until 30 days before departure, only the down payment will be retained. After that time, 70% from the price of the booked stay will be retained. Only written cancellations are valid and in case of early departure, the missing vacation days (minus breakfast) will be charged.
